Secret PRO CO2 Ablative Laser is a fractional ablative CO2 treatment that resurfaces and tightens the skin by creating precise micro-columns of thermal injury in the skin’s surface and deeper layers. As these controlled injuries heal, the skin regenerates with smoother texture, improved tone, and increased firmness

What To Expect

Everything You Need To Know About Secret PRO CO2 Ablative Laser

Before Your Treatment

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanner) for at least 4 weeks beforehand.
  • Discontinue retinoids, acids, scrubs, and exfoliating products 1–2 weeks before treatment, as directed.
  • Tell us about any recent procedures, medications, or changes in your health, especially if you’ve used isotretinoin or have a history of keloids or abnormal scarring.
  • Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin— no lotions, oils, or SPF on the treatment area.

We’ll also review topical pre-treatment (like pigment control or antiviral medication) if appropriate for your skin and medical history.

During Your Treatment
  • After your exam, we apply a custom, high strength topical numbing cream and answer any last questions.
  • Pro-Nox® (nitrous oxide) is available and included for comfort; you control it during the procedure.
  • The laser handpiece is passed over the treatment area in carefully planned patterns to ensure even coverage and appropriate density.
  • You’ll feel heat and a prickling or stinging sensation, which most patients find very manageable with numbing and Pro-Nox.
  • Depending on the number of areas treated and intensity, the full appointment (including numbing and post-care) is typically 60–90 minutes.

What Else To Know

After Your Treatment

  • Expect redness, swelling, and a sunburned or hot sensation immediately afterward, followed by bronzing and peeling over the next several days.
  • Typical healing time is 5–10 days, depending on how aggressive we’ve been and which areas were treated. More intensive treatments may take a bit longer.
  • You’ll follow a detailed post-care plan with specific cleansers, moisturizers, and ointments to protect the healing skin barrier.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure until fully healed and use broad-spectrum SPF daily afterward to protect your results.
  • Makeup can usually be worn again around 7–10 days, once the skin has re-epithelialized and active peeling has subsided.
  • Collagen remodeling continues for months after treatment, so improvements in firmness, texture, and fine lines will continue to evolve.
