Excel V+ Laser

It depends on what we’re treating and how your skin responds. Some patients see a meaningful improvement after one session, especially for isolated vessels. For rosacea, diffuse redness, acne marks, or more complex pigment, we often recommend a series of 2–4+ treatments spaced about 4–6 weeks apart. We’ll give you a realistic estimate at your consultation.

Most patients experience mild redness and swelling for 1–3 days, especially in areas with a lot of vessels or diffuse redness. Brown spots may darken and look “coffee-ground” before flaking off over 5–10 days. You can usually wear makeup the next day, as long as the skin is intact and not overly sensitive.

Excel V+ can be used on a range of skin tones, but settings and targets need to be carefully selected— especially for deeper complexions or pigment-prone skin. Dr. Kleydman will evaluate your Fitzpatrick type, history of pigment, medications, and recent sun exposure before deciding if Excel V+ or another modality is the safest choice.

You’ll feel quick snaps or warm stings with each pulse— similar to a rubber band flick. A topical cooling gel is applied to help make treatments very tolerable for most patients. If you’re anxious about discomfort, let us know; we can discuss additional comfort strategies before we begin.

Excel V+ can be an excellent option for flushing, visible vessels, and background redness associated with rosacea. Many rosacea patients do best with a series of laser treatments.
