PRP Injections

For Skin & Hair Loss

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) uses your own blood’s growth factors to stimulate hair follicles and support healthier-looking skin—without adding synthetic product. At Kleydman Dermatology, we use PRP for both hair restoration and skin rejuvenation as part of carefully structured treatment plans.

Learn More About PRP Injections

At Kleydman Dermatology, we use PRP in two primary ways:

  • PRP for Hair – to help support hair follicles, improve hair density and thickness, and slow certain types of hair shedding.
  • PRP for Skin – to improve texture, fine lines, and overall quality in areas like the under-eyes, face, neck, and scars.

*Final cost and number of sessions depend on the area treated (hair vs. skin) and will be determined during your consultation.

What are PRP Injections?

PRP (platelet-rich plasma) is an advanced regenerative treatment created from a small sample of your own blood, drawn conveniently in-office. The blood is processed in a centrifuge to isolate the plasma rich in platelets and growth factors— key components that support tissue repair and collagen production. This concentrated PRP is then carefully injected or microneedled into targeted areas to improve skin texture, tone, elasticity, and overall cellular renewal. Because PRP is completely autologous (from your own body), it offers a natural, biologic approach to rejuvenation and is often combined with treatments like microneedling, lasers, or injectables for enhanced, longer-lasting results.

Who is PRP Best For?

PRP for Hair:

  • Men and women with thinning hair or decreased density
  • Early androgenetic alopecia (male or female pattern hair loss)
  • Postpartum shedding that isn’t fully recovering
  • Patients who want to support medical hair treatments (like hair transplants, minoxidil or oral medications) with in-office procedures
  • Those looking to slow progression and improve coverage.

PRP for Skin:

  • Under-eye crepiness, fine lines, and mild hollowing (often combined with other treatments)
  • Overall texture and tone improvement for the face, neck, or décolleté
  • Supporting collagen after microneedling, RF, or laser
  • Select scarring (acne scars, surgical scars) as part of a combined plan

If your main concerns are thinning hair and tired-looking skin, PRP is often part of the same long-term strategy, tailored to both scalp and skin

What To Expect

Everything you need to know about PRP

Before Your Treatment

We’ll customize details based on whether we’re treating hair, skin, or both, but the overall flow is similar.

  • Arrive well-hydrated; this can make the blood draw smoother.
  • For hair treatments: arrive with clean scalp and hair, no heavy styling products or fibers.
  • For skin treatments: arrive with clean, makeup-free skin in the treatment area.
  • Let us know about any recent procedures (color/bleach, lasers, peels, microneedling), new medications, or health changes.

After Your Treatment
  • Mild tenderness, swelling, or tightness in the treated area is common and typically resolves over a few days.
  • For hair: the scalp may feel slightly sore or sensitive to touch that day; you’ll receive guidance on when to shampoo and resume hair products.
  • For skin: you may experience temporary redness, pinpoint bruising, or mild puffiness, especially around the under-eyes or face.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, and hot tubs for 24 hours.
  • Follow your specific aftercare instructions to maximize the regenerative benefits and support healing.

Results & how many PRP sessions you’ll need

PRP for Hair
Hair follicles respond gradually. Most patients see:

  • Decreased shedding and early signs of improvement over a few months
  • Changes in thickness, coverage, and new growth with a series of treatments

A typical hair protocol may include:

  • Initial series: 3–4 sessions, spaced about 4–6 weeks apart
  • Maintenance: periodic treatments (e.g., every 4–6 months) depending on response and other hair therapies used

PRP for hair is often combined with at-home or prescription therapies for the best outcomes.

PRP for Skin
PRP for skin often leads to:

  • A more refreshed, less tired look (especially under the eyes)
  • Improvements in texture, fine lines, and overall tone
  • Better long-term support when paired with microneedling, RF, or lasers

A typical skin protocol may include:

  • Initial series: 2–3 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart
  • Maintenance: once or twice a year, depending on goals and other treatments in your plan

We’ll outline a realistic plan— including how many sessions we recommend, how they fit with your other treatments, and how to maintain results over time.
